Blogging has become very popular over the last decade. Many people blog for different reasons; some for fun and others for business. Some people blog about their daily lives and others will post useful content in which many people will share with their friends online. I just finished up some training that detailed exactly why a network marketer should have a blog as well as the steps that should be taken to implement that blog and what to do with it.
It is essential for any network marketer to establish their own blog. In today’s internet age, when someone hears your name and especially when they hear your primary company attached to it, they will search for you to see what you are all about. When your name comes up in the search, you will want them to see that you are committed to the business as well as the fact that you have your act together and know what you are doing in the MLM industry.
Another reason to why a network marketer should have their own blog is so that that they can generate leads for their MLM business. The internet is a large ocean of people and it is easier to generate traffic to a blog than to talk to all of those people. You can have more traffic going through your blog than you could talk to in a day. It is also important to have your own domain name, most likely your real name and add .com to it. If it is taken then you can surely come up with some close variation. You will also need to host your own blog through WordPress. By doing this you will always own your blog and it will never be taken down or changed. If you use a free blogging service such as Blogger, then you are at the mercy of that provider.
So know you are probably wondering what kind of content should be on this blog. You will need to figure out who your target market is first. Once this is done you will begin writing relevant content to that market. New posts should be at minimum every two to three days. This content does not need to be refined. Something short and sweet will be sufficient. Next you will want to post one piece of excellent content once every week or two. This is something you will definitely want to spend a little bit of time on and refine it. This content should be something very helpful and will want people to share this post with everyone else on the internet.
Now that you have got some content on your blog, how do you drive traffic to it? Several methods can be used beginning with social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn among many others. You can even link these together so that you never have to actually post it to your profile on each of those sites through automated syndication. You will need to sign up for free accounts through twitterfeed.com and ping.fm. Once this is done you can link your blog’s RSS feed to twitterfeed, which is then linked to Ping.fm. From there Ping.fm will blast the link to all your social networking sites instantaneously. You post the blog and everything is updated right away.
Other ways to get traffic is through organic search rankings. To get to the top of a Google search page is easy once you know how. Some of the factors include knowing your keyword search, the title and meta description of your blog as well as incoming and outbound links. Outbound links are those that you publish on your blog to other sites. This can hurt your search ranking. Incoming links are those links that out there on the internet referencing back to your blog. The more you have, the better results in a search for your keywords.
