How To Explain Your Network Marketing Business
Posted by: | CommentsWhen you meet somebody new and are asked “What do you do?” what’s your reply? The standard response is to tell somebody your occupation whether it’s a construction worker, banker, assistant, accountant, teacher, or something else.
When you get involved in network marketing, you need to start thinking differently about your reply. You want to create an interest in your opportunity; so that you can recruit others onto your marketing team.
How Exactly Do You Explain Network Marketing While Prospecting?
If you start chatting to somebody new and you represent yourself as a professional in your opportunity you have a better chance at receiving positive feedback once you ask them if they’re open to a side project. What you say to the question of “what do you do” is going to be different for every network marketeer. There are plenty of different industries inside of network marketing such as health & wellness, travel, legal, energy just to name a couple.
With no regard for your opportunity, you would like to respond in a way that may allow the person you are chatting with, to wish to know more. Your response should create a response from them so that you can share more. For instance I like to say “I make money promoting gold & silver.” This is very short and to the point and creates a lot of interest. You do not want to explain network marketing that will turn people away from you. Create interest!
Who Can Teach You How To Explain Network Marketing?
Go to the leaders in the company you are in and ask them how they respond this question. They know what they are doing since it has worked for them. Every company is difference since each company offers their own line of products or services.
If they end up wanting to know more after your response, the last thing you want to do to explain network marketing is throw up on them. You don’t need to go berserk trying to explain the company, product, or comp. plan. You may confuse and lose them. Even if you ever get to the point in getting them to see a company presentation, they will not join you because you made it look tough. Your new friend and prospect is going to ask themselves if they can do what you did and they’re going to say no. You need to make the system as easy as possible because you want your team to be in a position to copy what you are doing. Again, your team leaders will be in a position to assist in the right responses.

Why MLM Scripts Never Work

I used to think that there was some kind of easy button where you needed the right MLM scripts with the perfect response and you could sign up reps into any network marketing company. I am an analytical thinker and my personality wanted me to have that perfect thing to say and respond to my prospect. I wanted that perfect MLM script. At times I would also find myself procrastinating a lot because I did not have a script that I was 100% confident with.
But Did I REALLY Need That Perfect MLM Scripts?
After losing money and continuing to come up short I realized that all of these MLM scripts that I was looking for are just a bunch of hype. The reality is that MLM scripts do not work! Calling your prospect and following the script will get you nowhere. In fact oftentimes you will find yourself completely lost because your prospect has now taken you away from your script by a comment or question from them.
I Failed The MLM Scripts
If you’re going to enroll new reps into your MLM business you are going to need to actually be interested in the prospect, build some rapport with them, and have a conversation. When I was following scripts I was so focused on what to say next that I failed to listen to my prospect’s actual needs. By listening not only to the words they say but the meaning to those words will allow me to know exactly how to respond.
I actually still follow a script when talking with a prospect; however, the keyword there is follow. I allow the script to be a roadmap that keeps me focused on the final destination which is getting them to a presentation or signing up. My purpose with a script is allow me to stay on track and know what the next part of our conversation will be.
So What Should You Do With MLM Scripts?
I would actually encourage anyone that does not know what to say during a prospecting call to have a script in front of them that they can refer to, but are never to follow word for word. Putting your own personality into it is important as well because whether you know it or not your prospect can tell if you are reading from a script. You must be able to take the words in the script and without changing the meaning you need to be able to say the words in a way that allows you to be relaxed and comfortable with yourself.
Learning how to effectively prospect for your MLM business is a must if you want to achieve success in this industry. Two of my favorite coaches in this industry are Todd Falcone and Jeffery Combs. Get Paid To Have Fun In Your Network Marketing Business

Picture this, a person sitting at his desk pounding away at his computer. Frequently there are blank stares into the screen while sipping on his coffee. The work keeps on piling and he slowly gets behind. It’s now Friday night and he needs to work late as he didn’t get the work done earlier in the week. There’s no time for the wife or kids. Sound familiar? No, it isn’t the guy in the cubicle in the office. It’s the man with the network marketing business.
Everyday thousands of people slave away concealed behind their computer hoping and dreaming they can make a lot of money inside his network marketing business. Truth be told, this person together with lots of the others won’t. But why you ask? He is a dedicated worker – whatever is needed he gets his jobs accomplished. This person should surely succeed if he sticks to it. Granted he would be able to get by doing this work, is that true success?
True accomplishment in network marketing doesn’t only mean one is capable of making a comfy living off of what they do, but also that they enjoy their life and the work they do. If the man in this example actually enjoyed his work, he would have no issue completing his work during the week so that he wouldn’t have to miss time with his family on Friday night.
To have fun with your network marketing business is all about your passion. If you can be passionate about what you are doing, there lies the beginning of having fun with your business. The old saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun.” So if you are having a good time in your business you’ll constantly be working without diversions and the time will fly by. If you end up working late any night of the week, it is due to the fact you like what you do not because you see it as a chore.
Having fun in life and business is critical not only for the finance gain, but also the social benefits. It is not wise to sit behind your personal computer all day. It’s great to get out and network and connect with other people.
One neat thing with the company I partner with is that they hold quarterly contests for vacations. The most recent contest allows the winners and their spouse to go on a 7 night Caribbean cruise, all expenses paid plus $1,000 cash. Now how’s that for fun? Not only are you going on a free cruise, but you’re also going with people you do business with and connect and forging more relationships and doubtless lifetime friendships. All of the while you’re getting paid from the work being you do in your network marketing business.
